Ben developed his training program based on sound, common-sense training methods cohered with over 40 years of experience.  He shares this information with 100's of people each year through his training videos, clinics and training outside dogs.  He is one of the leading cattle dog trainers in this country.

Ben's early years (before age 20) were spent raising and training Coonhounds and English Pointers.  Adults came from miles around to bring him dogs to train or to buy his pups and trained dogs.

Rope, reining and race horse training filled his early adult years, as did running cattle on his own spread.  He decided to finesse (save time) his cowboy ways of handling cattle by adding a good cow dog to the horse and a rope.  The next 35 years were spent developing strong cattle working lines of Border Collies and developing his sound training methods.  About 10 years ago he became involved with the Working Kelpie.  He also raised and trained Australian Cattle Dogs early on in his stock dog career.

Both Australian Shepherds and Australian Cattle Dogs have been successfully trained using his training methods.  Ben will use sheep, goats and ducks in addition to cattle when training a dog or helping you train your dog.
