What does "ride for the brand" mean?

The history of the American West is filled with these kinds of phrases that reveal the nature of the men and women who came west.  "Ride for the brand" in the words of the western writer, Louis L'Amour, was "an expression of loyalty to a man's employer or the particular outfit he rode for.  It was considered a compliment of the highest order in an almost feudal society.  If a man did not like a ranch or the way they conducted their affairs he was free to quit, and many did, but if he stayed on, he gave loyalty and expected it."

In these days, it can be a matter of courage to pick and choose God's Outfit to work for and to be loyal to.  Living with Christ's integrity to values, really living them involves, sometimes difficult, but necessary choices.  A productive and happy life come from "riding for the brand."

Here at Cowboy Junction we are riding for Christ's brand.

What happens at a Cowboy Church worship service?

For starters, there is nothing expected of you other than to sit back, relax and enjoy the presence of fellowship charged by the Holy Spirit.  Cowboy Junction worship service starts off with our talented Cowboy Junction Singers. You don't want to miss them!  We tithe and then Pastor Wade Markham shares 45 plus minutes of practical, down-to-earth, apply-to-every-day-living insights from the scriptures.

And of course, there are baptisms from time to time. The entire service generally runs from an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half.  And we promise, the time will fly by - you'll wonder where it went.

Come early on Sunday mornings and share coffee, juice, and donuts in the Chuck Wagon, or plan to stay after on Monday nights for coffee, pop, and great snacks.

Anyway you want.  While many of us at Cowboy Junction wear boots, jeans, hats or caps, others wear shorts, and some wear suits or dresses.  Any of these are appropriate.  The only thing anyone will notice is that you're here!   There's no pretense at Cowboy Junction.  We make ourselves at home with God and each other.
